That's right, the maker of Simprograms has joined our staff. He's going to be helping us with Garrett's objects as well as his own unique sets.

If you have experience in the process of "simizing" objects, then we could use your help. What is "simizing" exactly? Well it's the process of taking an image, cutting it up and fixing the z-buffers so that it not only looks good in the game, but that it doesn't bleed through walls OR your sims. If you're interested, please e-mail me here. Be sure to show examples of your original work attached to the e-mail.

So what happened with Garrett? Well his hard drive crashed, and that's the reason I wasn't able to get a hold of him these last couple of weeks. But he did make back-ups of all his stuff on CDs, and he just has to get situated with re-installing everything to get back on track. He is going to continue with the teen-bedroom set, but obviously it's going to take more time now since he had a huge setback with his crash.

The quality at SIMulation is the best I've seen in any sim fan site. They started only a couple of months ago, but as you can see, they are a top notch site, with top notch content. They update regularly, and make some awesome objects, skins, floors, and walls. This site is a MUST SEE! :D

Well aside from Garrett's internet service being down for the last 2 weeks and his school and life keeping him busy, he's still moving along with the Teen Bedroom Set (part 1). I wanted to update the site with an object for it, but unfortunately there isn't one.

Garrett's working on the set as much as possible aside from everything going on in his life right now, but he e-mailed me recently with great news and we should be seeing a couple objects for the set very soon. :D

Garrett and Evaine will be working on the Teen Bedroom Set in the coming weeks. This 5 part, 70+ object set will contain almost anything found in the average teen's bedroom. We will start posting objects on the site soon, but please realize that certain "simple" objects may take a long time to be released due to the fact that Garrett is hexing them to have new functions. :D

Garrett has recently added the second bookcase, an end table, and a lamp to the red marble set. The rest of the set should be coming soon, with some new additions! These new objects are Hot Date compatible, so they WILL work downtown without having to convert them yourself. :D

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've just been taking a break from the computer lately...it happens. :)

Check it out at Paladin's Place!! This utility will categorize any user-created objects into Hot Date categories. This allows them to be played in the downtown area. I've had a couple people e-mailing me saying there are problems with the tiki dance floor and DJ booth not showing up even after using this utility. But other than that, everything else seems to work great! :D

We have 3 new members joining our team! S.M. Lust, Garrett and Seammer are now "officially" a part of 7DS/8DS! :D

As you may know, S.M. Lust has been creating awesome objects, floors and walls for The Sims for quite some time now. He created the Prison set that is currently available at TSR, and many other great object sets in the past. I'm very proud to have him on-board and I expect many great things from him. :D

Garrett has been around in the community for a while. After being off and on with collaborations with him on the side, and even helping him with his website a while back, he has officially joined us. He's going to be a great asset to our site...he's a great object maker AND he's a proficient object hacker! A much needed element for both our sites. :)

Seammer as many of you know from her own site and from creations on 8DS, has decided to become part of the team as well. She'll be a great addition, for she's our sole skinner for both sites. :) That'll keep her busy, but I know she can handle it. She has shown that through 8DS, with her exceptional skinning ability.

As you can tell I haven't updated in a while. To be honest, I haven't been on the computer much since Tuesday. I've been glued to the TV finding out everything I possibly can about these horrible events. Words can't describe the feelings that are going through me, and many people right now. These are very sad times and my prayers go out to all the families that are affected by these events directly or indirectly.

I've got some really bad news. Claw and I's alter ego, Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf died Tuesday. The day 8DS opened. He was a major inspiration in the creation in both 7DS and 8DS. He was one of the first skins Claw ever created and he fought Godzilla to the death in one of our Deathmatches. To tell you the truth, we're kind of shocked by this. Sure he was a self-destructive, profane, perverted jerk, but he was real. Real to himself and others. I'm really going to miss him. So Hank, have one on me budy...

As many of you know, 8DS went live this morning. What you may not have known, is that 7DS is also entirely new. In creating 8DS, we decided to completely recode 7DS using the same new technology as 8DS. Furthermore, both 7DS and 8DS are usig the same web and database servers. This new technology should mean a faster site and the ability to support more users. However, both 7DS and 8DS are being affected by "road bumps" in implementing this new technology. We believe we've got the major problems fixed, but please be patient with us... ;)

As a note, for those of you thinking about registering with 8DS, please use the provided PayPal "Click to Pay" link. If you try and just send a payment to our email address, we have to manually set up your account. If you use the "Click to Pay" link and pay with a credit card, payment and access is almost immediate.

We hoped the opening of 8DS would have been today (Sept 1), but realistically that's not going to happen. There are still a lot of things we have to get done, and by making it open on Monday (Labor Day), it gives us all 3 solid days to work on the site...which is a good thing. :) I know a lot of you have been eagerly waiting for 8DS's launch and I'm sorry, but Mondays right around the corner. :)

I've talked with Roy recently, and it seems his computer has been giving him trouble for the last month. It hard crashed and he's been having trouble with connecting to the internet ever since. Once he gets his computer up and running again, he'll start working on the Fringe and Craze set again. But I have no idea when that may be, so if you're wondering what happened with Roy and his sets, now you know. :)

I've found some time to add to the Jurassic set...you can find a new plant in wrath!

Ok, so the updates haven't been constant lately. Trust me I hate it as much as you do, I don't like NOT updating 7DS, but 8DS is taking a huge priority right now. But looking on the brighter side, we (the 7DS staff) meet recently and we have nailed down exactly what the functionality of 8DS is going to be. To put it simply, it's gonna rock! :D VERY customizable to each individual user on what he or she wants to download. We're going to have ratings on the sexual and violent level of each object so if you don't want to see a 5 (the highest) rated object, whether it be sexual or violent, you won't have to. It's all up to you what you want to see and download. You'll be able to search, have specific violent/sexual rating searches, basically just a lot of customizable searches and queries so you can get the latest and greatest on 8DS. AND it will be customizable for 56K and cable modem users, so there's less waiting around to see the latest stuff. Like I said before, it's going to rock!

So what's taking so long? Not only do we have to design the site, we have to make tons of stuff for it. It wouldn't be right if there were 5 objects and 3 skins to download on opening day. lol So it's going to take some time, and I'll try to make something for 7DS periodically, but 8DS is taking a huge priority right now because that's what's going to keep 7DS alive. :) Click here to check out the 8DS Logo! As you may know, 7DS has been a hacked a couple times over the last few days. At first we thought it might have been an exploit of our newly deployed mySQL database. Actually, it appears our Hacker friend was using a neat little SQL exploit.

I'm not going to release his IP, cuz he didn't really do anything bad, so we'll let it slide this time. But, word of warning dude, I don't think Southwestern Bell Internet Services of Richardson, Texas likes its DSL customers hacking people's servers...

There have been tons of e-mails asking me why the fringe and craze sets aren't done yet. The reason is I need to get with Roy to finish them up. I expected Roy to be back 2 weeks ago...still waiting. I guess his business trip took longer than expected. ?

MOTS....they have a new comparison chart up, comparing MOTS against us and TSR....no comment, it's safer that way.

Yep, you've heard right. We've learned from "inside" information that the person posting from the Neighborhood 99 forum isn't from Maxis OR EA at all! So with that in mind 8DS WILL become a reality! Now we've got to actually make the site. Don't expect it to be here tomorrow, we're expecting it be in the August/September time frame. Don't think we're alone on this either, there are going to be top creators from several top sites joining together on this as well. :) We'll keep you posted on anything new with it as it's available. :)

Well after the HUGE response about this issue on the Neighborhood 99 forums, I am very grateful for having such loyal fans of this proposed site. But the main issue is this... I really don't know if this response was from Maxis or EA, and until I find out otherwise I just want to put it on hold until I get some concrete facts on what we CAN and CANNOT do with it. And yes we ARE going to do it, it's just a matter of time and patience.

Well after 2 days of voting the response has been very mixed. There are plenty of people who are willing to pay, so the site is becoming more of a reality now. The problem? Maxis... I don't think they like this idea at all. You can read the full article as to why here. As you can see in the reply to this post I'm a little ticked off about it all, but I have every reason to be. So until this gets cleared up I'm stopping the poll. We really needed about 2 days of votes anyway to see if it's going to be financially viable. And it definitely is, but our problem lies with Maxis's plans. There is no reason on spending all the time to make a site Maxis isn't going to "legally" allow. So we're just gonna have to wait and see what happens. :?

T-Rex, raptor, and the Jurassic SUV are done!. You can find them all in wrath. For those of you who want some trees to go with this set, you'll find a great palm tree in the tradewind set under gluttony. :)

And it isn't a new bed. :).....It's T-REX!!! To keep with the movie set theme I'm doing and since I already added the raptor, there was no choice but to make the T-Rex. It's obviously gonna take some time to "Simize", but the wait shouldn't be too long.

Once I get done with this, I'm gonna do a full fledged Jurassic theme set...until Roy gets back of course. Including plants, the gate, other dinosaurs (smaller ones), and anything else Jurassic related. Now you know what's going on and I hope you enjoy the preview of what's next. :)

If you've noticed, I've been concentrating on some movie set objects lately. I'm not going to "officially" call it a set because I really don't know how long I'm going to be working on them. When Roy gets back then I'm going to be fully concentrating on finishing the craze set and fringe set, and I'm sure that's going to be really soon. :)

Thanks for all the ideas for new objects. I've received TONS of great suggestions, and I'm sure you'll see many of your ideas come to life in the future.

I'll tell you what, you guys have got to be some of the best people in the world! In a little over 24 hours we got enough donations to make our June bandwidth bill! As for updates, Claw is still busy working on getting the craze set ready to go. The dining chair to match the table has just been added thanks to the quickness of Evaine! Also added the traffic light. Just added the chairs: in blue, green, red and yellow to match the loveseats. And remember, House Party is NOT required to use these objects. Enjoy! :)

'Cause 7DS chould use it. Due to the dismal revenue we're getting from advertising, we are finally having to ask you, our loyal users, to help keep 7DS open. At this point, all we're trying to do is meet our monthly bandwidth bill. This month we're $600 short. We need your help to pay this month's bill. After talking with elToro today about the future of 7DS, we've came across some potential that may let 7DS survive. You'll be seeing the changes soon and many more to come. We're not gonna give up that easy. The first change is the pop-ups...they're gone. I'm sure everyone is very dissopointed about this but to be perfectly honest they WERE helping us, but have become obsolete within the past month. Making very little for our site, so we took them out of their misery. :)

Those are the reasons for the lack of updates lately. Sorry, I've been getting these game urges lately and unfortunately with everything going financially with 7DS, the priority for the site has dropped. It's hard to update when you're not sure if you're going to be around next month. We've used all our funds and are getting VERY close in being able to pay the bills for bandwidth. We'll see what happens, but it's not looking too good. Even with the pop-ups and all the advertising on our site it's still not cutting it. I'm not sure what we'll do, but hopefully we'll figure something out soon. Hopefully.

I've been getting a lot of e-mails lately about how irritating the pop-ups on our page are. Well the truth of the matter is we HAVE to have them for 7DS to survive. They help greatly in paying for bandwidth costs. I don't want to go over the spiel about advertisers at their all time low and our hosts being at their all time highs with costs. It doesn't make any sense, BUT we are trying to overcome these obstacles and pop-ups are one of them. So as irritating as they are, we wouldn't be here without them. So simply put, pop-ups or no 7DS.

On a lighter note: Gorky has just added the whole cast of ER to pride. Toni Braxton added to lust and the whole Roswell cast have just been added to envy. Check these great skins out!

Well as you may or may not have noticed, we've updated! Gorky has added 'N Sync, some more Backstreet Boys skins, and many more skins to come. elToro and I have decided to work on updating the site rather than the redesign for the time being. Since there hasn't been much updates these last few weeks, we agreed that updating outweighed the redesign. So expect many more updates for the following weeks. :)

Gorky just added Brad Pitt with 3 new heads to lust. Benicio Del Toro and Oprah have been added to pride. The whole crew of G.I. Joe has been added to wrath.

Evaine just added a candelabrum to greed.

The last couple of weeks have been my little vacation from 7DS. For being up and working very hard on the site for over a year now I needed a break from it all. :) After playing my way through No One Lives Forever, kicking some serious butt in Serious Sam, and to top all those off with being sick in bed for the last week. Time to get back to what I love doing...The Sims!

I'm going full force on getting 7DS's new facelift under way, so please bear with the lack of updates. Once we have finished the new design, the updates will be as strong as usual. I guarantee it.

A big thanks go out to everyone for pointing out the bugs in some of the recent objects. Here's a list of all that has been fixed...
Stove: is facing the correct way now not backwards
Used TV: there was some pixelating on the bottom front side, now it's smooth
Oil Drum Table: bills can now sit on it without going through the table
Arm Chair: some minor white pixels were fixed in the medium and smaller zooms
Wall Lite: the sim doesn't go through it when walking by it anymore.
Security Camera: one rotation was going through the wall, it has now been fixed.

At 7DS, with the release of House Party, we have been going CRAZY. Introducing The Craze Set. (for those wondering, this does NOT require House Party) This set screams in colors and adds a little touch of 'Party' to your original The Sims installation. This excellent set was inspired by House Party's rave theme, but you won't be able to get your hands on these objects until the fringe set is complete. (Hopefully by the end of this week if all goes as planned). So please be patient. :)

With recent bandwidth issues, Sims For Mac is now exclusively hosting all of the iMacs on his site. If you haven't downloaded them yet, I suggest you head on over and grab em, along with their other great downloads.

Crash just made some awesome Backstreet Boys' skins in greed. Go check them out! She's also working on some fringe style skins to go with the fringe set soon, so be on the lookout for them in the future. Expect some more great skins from Gorky as well. So much to do, so little time.

Recently added the Giger dining chair to wrath. This is my personal set that I've been working on. Unfortunately I don't have a preview of the whole set because I haven't created them yet, but I'm sure this one is gonna be huge when I'm done with it. :) The furniture is based off of Giger's original works, but I'm also going to improvise on furniture that doesn't exist as well. :)

Yep the light is green, and we're off and running. Thanks for everyone's support in this matter, and hopefully this won't happen again. We're going to be adding some more copyright information to help protect us from these events in the future, and because we're doing this it will be a lot easier for us to take the thief down quickly and efficiently. The fringe set is a go, and we'll be working on it asap.

In other news, Gorky, from the former site Skinned Alive, is going to let 7DS put up his skins! Expect some great Gorky style skins up soon. :)

Just added a folding chair, some rubbish, an oil drum on fire, a hand held radio, and a special pot plant to the fringe set. You can find these great objects in sloth.

Well the reason for the lack of updates recently is because of this stupid site... The Sims Home.What does this site have to do with the lack of updates? Well they had A LOT of Roy's work on it. Roy had to hire a lawyer to get him to take his stuff down. In the process of doing this, Roy wanted to stop all updates on his stuff until this was resolved. Well the idiot still has Roy's retro dining table on his site. So we're waiting until he takes it off. Then, and only then, we can continue with the fringe set. Do I sound a little ticked about all this? YES! Because of this guy Roy probably won't have any more sets to make for 7DS, he's tired of people like this taking his stuff and putting it on their own site. Because of him, we'll probably lose one of THE best object makers for the game.

As you may or may not have noticed we have been going through some design improvements that will hopefully make your stay more enjoyable. Here's what we have done: 1. We've made it so there isn't an extra page to go to when you download an object, skin, floor, etc. Just like the old days. :) 2. You can download entire sets now. 3. When you click on objects for a sin you're not faced with 5 choices, they all show up at once. But you still have the 5 categories on the right in case you want to look for objects specific to that category. Hope you enjoy these changes, and hopefully it will make downloading faster and easier for you. :)

You can find the plant set here. So what's the next set? Well you're going to have to wait and see until me and Roy can figure out which one to do. He's got tons of new sets, it's just a matter of which ones to convert. :) I'll post what the new set looks like as soon as I can.

Well some updates and new objects have been added to the tradewind set, so now onto the next set...the plant set. Again I'll grey out the ones I've completed, and you'll find these plants in pride. :)

Evaine just added a new car... Flame! You can find it in pride. Just finished 3 plants from the plant set, only 1 plant to go! :) Crash just added Miss Scarlett. Check her out in lust. :)

You'll find the last installment of the tradewind set in gluttony under decorative. We've been having issues with this beverage bar all week, but in the end they were all resolved and it's finally finished...whew! Now that I'm done with the tradewind set, time to start the next one... The Mission Set . Just added the lamp, end table, loveseat, arm chair, and dresser for the mission set. Check them out in lust. Just one more to go.

Has anyone else noticed that 7 Deadly Sims has been in the fan spotlight for over 4 weeks? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but either Maxis doesn't have time to do a new spotlight or we're doing something right... I'm hoping the latter. Well I just wanted to say thanks to Maxis either way. So thanks Maxis! :)

As you may have noticed there have been some changes to our site design. Why you ask? Well running a site that has a transfer rate well over 800 Gigs a month isn't cheap. We use our advertising to pay for the site, and lately those 2 lines have been VERY close. Seems with advertising on the web and the .com phenomenon coming in the year 2001, things have taken a huge shift for web fan sites and web companies for that matter. We are getting less money for advertisers while our rates for Gigs a month seem to climb. It's a sad but real truth for many, including us.

SO in that regard, you will notice some pop-ups and some other ways to help support our site. And by supporting our sponsors, it really DOES help.:) Please bear with us while we figure out our future, and what the internet holds for us.

After 2 weeks of making this set, it's finally done! You can find the executive set in greed. Now onto the next set... The Tradewind Set. Again I'll grey out the items once they're finished, and this set is gonna go into gluttony, because of the bar and the atmosphere of this one. Plus we need a new sin to update with sets anyway. lol In other news... Atomic, as some of you may know from DisturbedSims, has agreed to post some of his more gothic/Giger paintings to our site. Expect many new painting in wrath, you won't be disappointed. :)

It was brought to our attention not too long ago that there was a problem with Fred Durst's hat not showing up in the game, well Crash just finished fixing it. You'll find the new and improved Fred Durst in greed. Crash also made an excellent Space Channel 5 chick named Ulala. Check her out in Lust. Still pressing on the executive set...just 1 to go. :) And for all of you The Sim fans out there...no I didn't win the Elvis lookalike contest. :( But I was a runner up so that's got to count for something. And lost most of what I took. :( BUT, I had tons of fun and that's what counts. We stayed at the Luxor, which had an AMAZING Egyptian theme. I loved it! But anyways, I'm back, and I'm ready to start lighting up the sins again. So I'm going to be starting on the rest of the executive set (as many have been wondering by the e-mails I've been getting) and work my way through MANY new sets Roy has in store for us all. That's right, we've made the sim fan spotlight for the 3rd time in our existence. Whoo Hoo! I'd like to thank elToro , Crash , and our newest members Roy and Evaine for helping make this happen. I'd also like to thank everyone who has supported our site with links, comments, suggestions, and yes even the criticisms. That's what it's all about!

Just when you thought one set was enough, the retro set is here. Again I will grey out the items in the set that I have finished and put them in the GREED section this time. Have to distribute the sins a little, pride can't hog all the good stuff. :) Hope you enjoy this new retro set...

WOW! I had a lot more requests than I bargained for. I received over 250 e-mails today! And yes, actually I did read them all. I have sifted through them and have found over 40 e-mails with really great object ideas. So expect more...furniture, doors, windows, and electronics in the near future. Those seem to be the most requested objects of them all, and I'll be happy to fulfill your requests.

My question to you is this: what kinds of objects do YOU want to see more of on our site? Nothing specific, just generally speaking. More decorative (yea right! :)), more appliances, more electronics, more furniture, or more outdoor objects? So send me an e-mail here and give me your thoughts.

Sorry for the wait. Our old server is now back up and running. It took a couple of hours to cram in the new motherboard and SCSI drives. This server will be a lot faster than the backup we had running for the last couple weeks.

A new year is upon us and the ballots are in and 7 Deadly Sims won two, count 'em, two Silver Sims Awards! We won both best skins (kudos to Crash) and best objects (congrats to Claw). A big thank you to all of you who nominated us, without you we wouldn't have even had a chance to win.
